La Grotta dei Fichi (privately owned and rented by the owner) is a magnificent vacation villa located on the Amalfi Coast, set in a peaceful location and immersed in a lush tropical garden for total privacy.
Designed around the sea views, and maximizing the seafront experience, La Grotta dei Fichi is divided into several levels, all of which face the sea and the stunning coastline.
With 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms (plus 2 half/baths) the vacation villa accommodates up to 8 guests (plus 2 + 2 extra people at the separate Annex/Cottage with rooftop Hot-Tub).
A beautiful wooden door opens to the first panoramic view terrace complete with chairs and table.
You have begun your journey at the beginning of the Villa’s pathway surrounded by vibrant gardens.
You will reach the Villa from the main entrance of the building along about 60-meters (200-feet) private walkway that includes approximately 75 gradual steps (an ingenious cable car transports your luggage to the front door of the villa, leaving you free to admire the view as you approach).
You will find tropical plants perfectly integrated with the flamboyant Mediterranean scrub: from there, you can enter the inside of the Villa.
Ground Floor
From the alley, you enter a large living room with dining area. The facilities of this room are: a living stone fireplace, hi-fi stereo, satellite TV with DVD, fan, wide windows with a panoramic view on the sea.
At the internal kitchen you will find a five-burner stove, an electric oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, dishwasher, American Coffee Machine, kitchen utensils and a panoramic window.
Then, you will find an extra dining room/library with one couch/sofa bed and a window with a wide view of the sea.
There is also an half/bathroom with panoramic window on the sea.
From the living room you enter out onto the terrace, with its own al fresco dining area, an outdoor kitchen equipped with a barbecue, a wood-burning Pizza oven, a wood cooking stove, a gas cook stove with kitchen utensils and an Ice-maker.
The laundry has a washing machine, an ironing set, large basin and an half/bathroom.
Further on the ground floor, you will find the pool (8 x 3 m) with hydro massage surrounded by two solarium areas.
They are equipped with deck chairs, shower, lounge area with table and chairs in the shade of palm leaves.
There is also a bar built in a cave with chairs, tables, refrigerator, hi-fi, small cellar carved into the rock with a selection of certified D.O. C. Wines. Finally you can get to the “Pensatoio” (contemplation space), a relaxing spot with a sofa bed and a mini fridge.
Downstairs
From the main hall down a staircase of about 10 steps you reach the lower floor consisting of a bedroom with two single beds (the beds can be set like one double bed), independent air conditioning, bathroom with WC, washbasin and fully enclosed shower, panoramic windows; a double bedroom, fireplace, independent air conditioning, bathroom with large shower, windows with view of the sea.
Upstairs
From the main hall up a staircase of about 10 steps you access the upper floor consisting of a living room with two single sofa beds, a small office with wireless ADSL connection, independent air conditioning and a large window overlooking the sea, a bathroom with shower and windows overlooking the sea, terrace with a panoramic view, air conditioned double bedroom, large sliding-glass window overlooking the sea.
Sky bedroom
From the living room of the upper floor, through a spiral staircase you enter the Sky Bedroom – which consists of which consists of a double bedroom, independent air conditioning, sliding-glass windows facing the sea, sauna, large shower and toilette carved into the rock; solarium terrace overlooking the Mediterranean.
The vegetable garden
The characteristic organic vegetable garden at La Grotta dei Fichi is available for Guests to taste typical products from a land rich in agricultural excellence.
You can pick tomatoes, eggplants, peppers, zucchini, salad, potatoes and others seasonal vegetables from the garden and enjoy cooking them in the villa’s indoor kitchen or outdoor wood burning oven, overlooking the sea.
The fantastic climate of the Amalfi Coast gives you flavours and colours which are difficult to forget.
Finally, a vintage chicken shed complete with chickens will ensure that you have fresh eggs every day for your breakfast.
